Mason Greenwood update: Man Utd sent ‘IMPOSSIBLE’ message over Getafe outcast
Mason Greenwood may be enjoying a strong season with Getafe in LaLiga, but that is not about to make the future of the Manchester United loanee straightforward.
Greenwood finds himself exiled in Spain after personal issues saw him dumped by the Red Devils after an internal investigation into his behaviour.
These were prompted by a police investigation that saw charges, which the player always denied, of attempted rape, engaging in controlling behaviour and assault dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service following the withdrawal of a key witness.

Man Utd indicated the 22-year-old winger was unable to continue with them. After a trying summer looking for a destination to send him on loan, Getafe emerged. He has scored eight times and laid on five more for the Spanish side.
Greenwood’s form has raised the question of United potentially taking him back. He appears to still be seen as a toxic character at Old Trafford, however. A permanent transfer looks likely.
With this in mind, Spain had looked the likeliest destination, but the Red Devils have suffered something of a double blow in this regard.

Barcelona distanced themselves from the player on Thursday and now it appears that any plans Getafe had of retaining him are gone.
Marca reports: “Mason Greenwood 's continuity at Getafe has become impossible.
“Manchester United has decided to sell the English player and will do so to the highest bidder, placing the striker's starting price at an amount close to €50 million, money that right now the Madrid club cannot afford to pay for any footballer.”
Will Man Utd reassess Greenwood price?
Greenwood is likely to be priced out of the market at that value. The personal baggage he carries is too great for many clubs to justify a move for him at that point.
The Times reported: “Barcelona have cooled their interest in Mason Greenwood as they believe that signing the England striker would be too costly and while also provoking a backlash among supporters.
“The Catalan club have been monitoring Greenwood, 22, since he joined Getafe on a season-long loan from Manchester United last summer but… Barcelona have decided to look elsewhere.”
His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has fallen from a high of €77m before his 18-month absence, which was prompted by his legal issues, and is now just €18m.
