The Real Madrid ace was recently a guest on the BeIn United show, where he spoke about his departure from PSG, who he is currently embroiled in a long-running lawsuit with.

Many thought that the Real Madrid striker might lash out at his former employer, but Mbappe himself elected not to sling any mud. Indeed, he has revealed that he could have stayed in his home city a good deal longer.

Mbappe still demands millions of euros in salary arrears from PSG, who saw the star striker leave for Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer. The manner of his departure as a free agent caused great frustration for PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. In 2018, the PSG boss paid a whopping €180 million to Monaco to sign the striker and winger in the second-biggest transfer deal in history.

Despite the history between the two men, whose relationship is thought to be very cold indeed, the 26-year-old attacker admits to still having a soft spot for the Parisians: "If I had not gone to Real Madrid, I would have stayed with PSG my whole life. I had the dream to play here and I am very happy about that. But I still watch PSG games, have friends there in the team and they are playing very well again at the moment.”

'One of the biggest clubs in the world'

Mbappe even had words of praise for his former club.

“I have always said that Paris Saint-Germain is the biggest club in France and also one of the best in the world. I only left that club to go to the biggest club in the world. I have always said that Real Madrid is the only club I would leave PSG for,” the winger revealed.

The French international has not yet managed to fully excel in the shirt of Los Blancos following his arrival in Madrid.

With Vinícius Junior occupying his preferred role on the left of the attack, Mbappe has typically been forced to play through the middle of a front three.

He has scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 23 official matches for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, with whom he is under contract until 2029.
