Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti are preparing to part ways at the end of the season, but Los Blancos are preparing a classy send off for the Italian coach, who has enjoyed so much success at the Bernabeu.

Ancelotti is in danger of a trophyless season at Real Madrid, with Saturday’s Cope del Rey final going 3-2 in the favour of Barcelona after extra-time. The Blaugrana also hold a slim but important advantage in LaLiga, while Arsenal eliminated Los Blancos from the Champions League.

The 65-year-old will be allowed to see out the season at the Bernabeu, but with Brazil set to offer Ancelotti an attractive role as head coach of the national team, he will soon be on his way.

Relevo reports that he still wants to remain but president Florentino Perez and his board have made the decision to cut their ties and instead appoint Xabi Alonso.

Ancelotti not leaving empty handed

Real Madrid will pay tribute to the man who has led the first team since 2021 and is in his second stint at the Bernabeu. Over this time, he has claimed 15 titles, including three Champions Leagues and a couple of LaLiga crowns.

Firstly, the Spaniards will pay Ancelotti the value of the remaining year of his contract. This is set to land the coach some €11 million.

On top of this, the Italian will be given an ambassadorial role with the club. Perez is said to be “deeply concerned” about the image of Real Madrid and has consequently focused on landing strong characters to perform this role for the club.

Finally, Real Madrid will give Ancelotti a send-off at the Bernabeu in his last match at the venue, in which all his titles will be displayed. This is set to be the final LaLiga match of the season, which is against Real Sociedad.

Ancelotti is not expected to take charge of Real Madrid at the FIFA Club World Cup, with Brazil eager to get him in place from the beginning of June.

Instead, Santiago Solari is a rumoured caretaker for Los Blancos at the US competition.
