Barcelona leave FOUR transfer outcasts out of Rayo Vallecano squad
Barcelona have been busy in this transfer window, signing five new players, but are now spending the end of it trying to get rid of some of their existing talent.
The Blaugrana have been eager to sell players to make a financial gain and help them in their economic troubles, with several players already on the market.
This year, they’ve already let go of players like Philippe Coutinho, Clement Lenglet, Francisco Trincao, Riqui Puig, Oscar Mingueza, Neto, Ray Manaj and more, but aren’t done there.
They’ve agreed a deal with Juventus for the sale of Memphis Depay, and are now negotiating whether it should be on a free transfer or whether there will be a fee involved.
Four players dropped from La Liga opener
Ahead of their season-opener against Rayo Vallecano this weekend, they’ve dropped four players from the squad, with the quartet available for transfers between now and the end of the window.
Those four are defenders Sergino Dest and Samuel Umtiti and forwards Abde Ezzalzouli and Martin Braithwaite, all of whom are awaiting concrete offers from other clubs.
Dest has been linked with a move to Manchester United to reunite with Erik ten Hag, but the Red Devils haven’t yet made a move as they look to improve elsewhere in their squad.
The American is keen to stay, despite manager Xavi telling him to find a new club before the end of the window if he wishes to have regular game time.

Umtiti has been in negotiations with several Ligue 1 clubs, but a move hasn’t materialized – likely due to his poor fitness record, which is seen as a massive risk.
Abde is seen as a player to start with the B team, and Barcelona are open to loan offers for the 20-year-old Moroccan, with a view to extending his contract first.
Braithwaite, meanwhile, has a few suitors in the form of lower-half Premier League and La Liga teams, but the Dane wants to receive his wages from Barcelona in full before leaving the Camp Nou.
Barcelona need to raise funds, and are open to selling other players, including Frenkie de Jong, who would raise the most money for the club and help them financially.
