Barcelona could soon be re-entering the transfer market to sign a full-back before the end of the summer window.

It has been a busy summer for the Catalans, bolstered by the sale of various economic levers which has eased their chronic financial situation.

Robert Lewandowski, Jules Kounde, Raphinha, Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie have all arrived over the past two months, while the club has also tied down the contract renewals of Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto.

And there may still be time for another deal or two before deadline day.

Spanish football journalist Gerard Romero claims that Barcelona have the budget in place to move for a full-back.

According to Romero, there are €3m to €4 million available to strengthen in the position following the latest financial manoeuverings at Camp Nou.

The top candidates to move will depend on where Barca see the greatest need.

On the left hand side of defence Marcos Alonso has been constantly linked with a move back to his native Spain, with speculation that he could enter the deal that will see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang head to Chelsea.

On the opposite flank, meanwhile, Villarreal's Argentina international Juan Foyth is considered the best option, though the La Liga club has recently moved to quash any transfer talk.

"We are not preparing for this. We are not looking to sell any player and much less Juan," vice-president Jose Manuel Llaneza warned.

Romero also affirmed that Kounde should be in line to make his Barcelona debut this weekend against Valladolid.

Problems with registration have kept the ex-Sevilla defender on the sidelines for Barca's first two Liga outings, but the journalist assures that his inscription is now all but guaranteed for Sunday's game.
