Barcelona and Real Madrid to battle over 17-year-old Brazilian star
Brazil is a hotbed for young talent and there may be another top youngster on his way to Europe soon in the form of Atletico Paranaense youngster Vitor Roque.
The forward is attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs for his fine form in the Copa Libertadores, and could be a name on the top of scouting lists in the coming months.
Still only 17, Roque is being watched by the big two in Spain – Barcelona and Real Madrid – while there is also interest coming in from Serie A.
They will have further chances to observe him when Atletico Paranaense take the stage in South America’s biggest match: the Copa Libertadores final on October 29 this year.
Juventus also in the chase for youngster
According to reports, Juventus have offered €15 million for the player and that offer has been rejected, as the Brazilian club are looking for more money, judging by how much youngsters were previously sold for.
They are looking to get a higher sum – closer to the ones Real Madrid paid for talents like Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo – something in the range of €50 million, showing how highly they value the player.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are two clubs synonymous with signing young Brazilian talent and they could enter a battle to sign Roque, having already had eyes on Palmeiras talent Endrick.
Real Madrid have targeted the market more often in recent years, having seen how important Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo have become, and want to replicate that success again with more players.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have a history with Brazilian talent, with Neymar being the last player to come straight from the South American nation to have a great career at the Camp Nou.
Mundo Deportivo, the Barcelona paper, suggest that Joan Laporta is keen on the player and wants a top youngster to add to his project, with Roque one of the players considered.
Roque could be a name that more is written of in the coming months, and the Copa Libertadores final could only boost his reputation even further if it goes well for him and his club.
