The five contract extensions Real Madrid are set to announce
Real Madrid are set to hand contract extensions to five first team players as they look to keep hold of the core that has led them to success in recent years.
Los Blancos have won six trophies in the past three seasons and they have begun this campaign with a 100% start in La Liga to pick up where they left off last year.
The Spaniards made just two new signings over the summer after winning the Champions League and it appears the club are investing in renewing the deals of some of their most crucial players.
Seven players have their contracts up at the end of the season, with a further five set to expire in 2024, giving Real a lot of business to conduct in the coming months.
Which players will be given new contracts at Real Madrid?
Three of Real’s veteran stars are into the final year of their deals, with Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric all able to freely speak to other teams from January.
Benzema, 34, is on course to sign for a further 12 months on the back of the most productive campaign of his career, while Modric and Kroos will likely make decisions on their futures at the end of the season.
Nacho is another player who is set to pen a new one-year deal, although Dani Ceballos, Mariano and Marco Asensio could all leave when their contracts expire next summer.

Vinicius Junior is set to be rewarded with a contract until 2027 after his rise to stardom which saw him net the winner in the Champions League final against Liverpool.
The forward’s current deal is set to expire in 2024, along with Eden Hazard, Lucas Vazquez, Alvaro Odriozola and Andriy Lunin, although none of those players have been offered new contracts as of yet.
Brazilian duo Eder Militao and Rodrygo are also set to sign new deals which will keep them both at the club until 2028, tying down Real’s youngest and most talented stars for the long-term.
