Revealed: the fee Barcelona and Real Madrid have to pay for Haaland
Erling Haaland has had an incredible start to the season, having netted 17 goals in 11 games for Manchester City so far this season, with his most recent exploits being a hat-trick against Manchester United.
The Norwegian was widely expected to do well in England, but a record this good was almost unimaginable, and he is proving all his doubters wrong at the start of the season.
Haaland was linked to a move to various clubs in the summer but his transfer saga ended early as he completed a quick move to Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund.
Despite that, there has often been chatter about his next transfer, and it’s now revealed how much clubs such as Barcelona or Real Madrid would have to pay if they want to sign him in the future.
Barcelona and Real Madrid in for Haaland
According to El Chiringuito, there is a release clause in Haaland’s contract that allows him to leave Manchester City for a set fee in the summer of 2024.
The release clause is set at a eye-watering €200 million, which means only a handful of clubs around Europe are able to afford that in that year.
The report from El Chiringuito says Real Madrid are open to the idea of signing the player for that fee in 2024 and that the forward has made the club his top priority for the future.
However, Barcelona are also hoping to be in a good position to make that deal, and they will have no issues convincing the player either as they have had a great start to life under Xavi.

There could, however, be a problem with his wages as he earns a huge amount at Manchester City – something Real Madrid can afford – and something Barcelona may struggle to match.
Any move for Haaland next year seems unlikely, but there may be another war for his transfer in two years’ time, and that will be for a much bigger fee than the one that he went for this year.
