How Gerard Pique could face Barcelona in La Liga despite retirement
Gerard Pique could come up against Barcelona in the future, despite announcing his retirement from professional football earlier today.
That's because Pique is the owner of LaLiga 2 side FC Andorra, who are just one promotion away from facing Barca in La Liga.
The 35-year-old's company - Kosmos - bought the club, who were in the fifth tier of Spanish football, almost four years ago.

According to their LinkedIn profile, Kosmos are currently building a global portfolio of sports, media and entertainment ventures.
These ventures also include transforming tennis' Davis Cup and producing Antoine Griezmann's documentary 'La Decision'.
But Kosmos' most impactful project could be taking FC Andorra to La Liga, where they will face Barcelona and Real Madrid.
"The main difference with other clubs in Spain is here there's a whole country backing up the team," Pique told the BBC.
"We don't want to be just an investor, we want to be involved in the team, to make it better and place the team in higher divisions."
Gerard Pique's retirement
Pique announced his retirement from football in a video on social media bidding farewell to Barcelona fans.
The 35-year-old still had more than 18 months to run on his contract, but his form had declined in recent times, alongside a number of issues in his personal life.

Pique confirmed that Barcelona’s next fixture against Almeria will be his last at Camp Nou.
