Joao Felix is hoping to leave Atletico Madrid in January and interested teams have been told how much they need to pay to sign the forward.

Felix has grown frustrated having fallen out of favour with Diego Simeone and the 23-year-old has reportedly instructed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to find him a new club as soon as possible.

Felix had been approached by Manchester United in the summer, with Atletico rejecting a bid of around €130m, but the Portuguese international has since seen his stock fall at the Metropolitano.

Atletico signed Felix for €127 million in 2019 but, according to Spanish outlet AS, the La Liga side are willing to sell the ex-Benfica man if they receive an offer of around €100m.

United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are the sides credited with having the strongest interest in a move and the player’s relationship with Simeone is said to be broken, meaning a departure could be on the cards in the near future.

Where did it all go wrong for Atletico’s starboy?

Up until this season, Felix was considered one of Atletico’s brightest talents and a player that the club wanted to build around after making him the second-most expensive teenager ever when they signed him.

However, there was a hope that Felix would take a step up as he entered his fourth season with the club, having scored just 33 goals in 129 games for Atletico, and the signs were intriguing when he began the season with three assists against Getafe.

But a run of 13 games without a goal or assist followed, with Felix having been dropped to the bench following Atletico’s 2-1 home defeat to rivals Real Madrid in September.

Felix played just 54 minutes over Atletico’s next six games and he reacted by showcasing his frustration on the bench after not being brought on as a substitute as well as liking posts on social media calling for his return to Benfica.

Although Felix broke his barren run in front of goal by netting three times in as many games prior to the World Cup break, before scoring for Portugal in Qatar, his future at Atletico may be beyond repair and it remains to be seen if an interested team meets their asking price in January.
