OFFICIAL: Real Madrid sign Palmeiras wonderkid Endrick for €72m
Real Madrid have announced the signing of 16-year-old striker Endrick from Palmeiras.
Los Blancos could spend up to €72 million on Endrick's transfer fee, although €35m of this is fixed, with €25m in potential add ons. Furthermore, €12m will need to be paid in taxes.
Real Madrid have signed the forward on a contract that runs until 2027, with the option of extending that deal to 2030.
FIFA regulations mean that he will remain in Brazil until the summer of 2024.
A simple statement on Real Madrid's website confirmed the deal.
"Real Madrid, Endrick and his family have reached an agreement whereby the player will be able to join Real Madrid when he comes of age in July 2024.
"Until then, Endrick will continue his training at Palmeiras. The player will travel to Madrid in the coming days to visit our club's facilities."
'Biggest sale in Brazilian football history
Palmeiras president Leila Pereira said: “We've completed the biggest sale in the history of Brazilian football. Real Madrid's proposal is compatible with Endrick's enormous talent and corresponds to the sporting and financial goals that we have established since the beginning of negotiations.”
Endrick added: "I thank Palmeiras, the club of my heart, for offering me everything necessary to become what I am today, for helping me to accomplish my dreams and for respecting my desire and that of my family to make another dream come true.
"Until I join Real Madrid, I will continue to dedicate myself as I have always dedicated myself to being able to offer Palmeiras even more on the field: more goals, more victories, more titles and even more joy for our fans."
Endrick has only played seven senior matches but has scored one goal and created one more in this time, becoming Palmeiras' youngest player and goal scorer.
