Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Real Madrid on at least a temporary basis to use the club’s Valdebebas training facilities – but at least one member of the current squad wants the club legend to return to the club on a permanent basis.

Ronaldo is presently a free agent after being released by Manchester United following a spectacular fall out with the Old Trafford side and is seeking a route back into top level football.

Chelsea and Arsenal have been tentatively linked with the striker following injuries to Armando Broja and Gabriel Jesus respectively, but a transfer to the Saudi Pro League presently looks the likeliest outcome for Ronaldo’s future.

According to a report from Defensa Central, though, Vinicius Junior wants Real Madrid to throw their hat into the right for the 37-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

As the source explains: “The young Brazilian is a great admirer of Cristiano and his biggest hurts is that he has never been able to play with hm, which is why, with the rumours about the Portuguese and his training in Valdebebas, the player has spent the last few hours glued to the phone, looking for all kinds of information about it.”

It goes on to explain that Vini Jr is ready to “beg” president Florentino Perez to sign Ronaldo, who is described as his hero.

Indeed, previously the Brazil international had told magazine Madridista Real of Ronaldo: “I had his posters on my wall when I was little. An idol for me.”

Perez is thought to be unwilling to welcome the club’s record scorer back to Real Madrid, although a report from Goal Italia suggests that the forward might even be willing to play for free at the club.

With Karim Benzema now fighting fit again after an injury with the France World Cup squad and Vini Jr also in sparkling form, Ronaldo returning to Real Madrid is thought to be impossible.
