Spurs hope to end Kessie's Barcelona nightmare

Franck Kessie only signed for Barcelona in the summer but he could already be on his way out already, with his lack of game time being a big worry.

Kessie signed for Barcelona after his contract at Milan ran out at the end of last season and he hasn’t had the same impact at the Camp Nou as he did in Italy.

The Ivorian is seen as a second-choice player in Xavi’s side, which has proven to be a source of frustration and is looking for an exit from the club.

Now, though, Tottenham could offer him a way out of the La Liga side, with Antonio Conte keen on bringing him to North London to reinforce his midfield.

Tottenham keen on Kessie

Sport suggests Tottenham are willing to make a €15 million bid for the Ivorian midfielder in the January transfer window to end his Barcelona nightmare.

The report suggests Xavi doesn’t see Kessie as the right fit and that has tempted Conte to make a move for him, but there may be a complication in the signing.

Tottenham will have to sell players first or send players out on loan before they can make a transfer and that may prove to be difficult next month, ultimately becoming a stumbling block in the deal for Kessie.

Barcelona are reportedly open to the sale as Kessie isn’t an essential member of the team and raising funds through Kessie’s sale will help their financial cause.

Tottenham strengthened their midfield in the summer with the signing of Yves Bissouma and already have players like Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg but adding Kessie would only bolster them.

There was previously interest in Kessie from Italy and a return to San Siro was on the cards, but this time, it would be with Inter, not Milan, however, nothing has materialized about that move.
