Barcelona fears the return of full-back Sergino Dest from AC MIlan at the end of the season.

Barca had sent Dest on loan to the Serie A side with a €20 million buy option, which they expected to be met.

But Dest has rarely featured for Milan and they have no interest in making it a permanent deal, according to journalist Luis Rojo.

Barcelona's financial troubles have been well-documented and the fee from Dest moving to Milan would have been incredibly helpful.

La Blaugrana are struggling so much that they can't even reward star player Gavi with a new contract.

Barcelona eyeing Cancelo move

Over the last few months, Barcelona have targeted a host of players for that position including Thomas Meunier and Juan Foyth but the opportunity to get Cancelo could be tempting.

According to Sport, Cancelo wants to leave Manchester City in the summer with Barcelona keen to make a move for him, but they know he won’t be cheap.

Barcelona have a good relationship with his agent Jorge Mendes and feel that could act as boost for them, as Mendes has regularly been in contact with the Blaugrana over the last few months.

The price for Cancelo could be a stumbling block: Manchester City value him highly and still see him as one of the best players in the world in that position over the last few years.

For that reason, it’s believed that he will cost around €70 million, which is well out of Barcelona’s financial realm, and is a problem for them as they want to get a deal done.

It was reported by The Telegraph earlier in the season that Cancelo was disappointed with his playing time, which has become irregular this season and was looking to move on if things didn’t change for him.
