Real Madrid legend Luka Modric turns down Cristiano Ronaldo reunion
Luka Modric has turned down the chance to reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr after the Portuguese star’s recent signing with the Saudi Arabian club.
Ronaldo moved to Al Nassr this week after being a free agent for several weeks after his contract was terminated by Manchester United in November.
Ronaldo wanted to leave Manchester United for a while and after his unsanctioned interview with Piers Morgan where he was critical of the club, coach and overall structure, he was let go.

Now, Al Nassr are looking for players who will add to the quality of their team and have been looking at some of Ronaldo’s old team-mates.
Modric to remain in Spain
Earlier in the week, it was reported that Sergio Ramos was of interest to Al Nassr but given his improved fitness and Paris Saint-Germain form, they look to keep him for the rest of the season.
Now, they’ve been looking at Modric, with whom Ronaldo shared a great relationship with when they were together at Real Madrid.

The two shared the locker room together between 2012 when Modric joined and 2018 when Ronaldo left, winning four Champions League titles together.
However, Modric has turned down the Saudi Arabia offer, according to Marca, as he hopes to continue playing at the highest level in Europe.

Modric is in the final months of his contract at Real Madrid and there is a belief that they will offer him a one-year extension to continue his legendary career with the club.
Al Nassr, though, are willing to wait for the Croatian for a further year and would be happy to make a deal with him next year.
Other than Ramos and Modric, Al Nassr are also considering the possibility of signing Sergio Busquets, the Barcelona midfielder who is also in the final months of his current deal.
