Messi, Benzema & 15 stars to already complete Bosman Transfers this summer
The European-wide transfer window has still not officially opened on July 1 but already we have seen a host of blockbuster Bosman transfers confirmed.
The biggest free transfer of all, of course, is Lionel Messi’s move to Inter Miami. His PSG contract expires at the end of June 2023. He had preferred to return to Barcelona after two years away but, when a deal wasn’t financially viable, the 35-year-old opted to take his family to Miami. He rejected a €400ma-year contract from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia in the process.
Messi is expected to win yet another Ballon d’Or this year but the current holder has also completed an eye-catching Bosman Transfer.

Karim Benzema had been expected to renew his contract that was expiring at Real Madrid this month.
But the France striker eventually decided to end his legendary 14-year career at Madrid by signing for Al Ittihad.
The Saudi Arabian league is now awash with cash from the PIF and Benzema will earn over €200m per year.
Benzema isn’t the only Madrid player leaving on a free transfer as teammate Marco Asensio also leaves the Santiago Bernabeu to join PSG. Asensio rejected a move to Aston Villa to sign for PSG.
PSG have been active in the free transfer market - both in terms of incoming and outgoing players. They completed one of the biggest coups of the Bosman market by signing star Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
The Parisians have also captured Turkey centre back Caglar Soyuncu on a free transfer from relegated Leicester City as they greatly strengthen their defence.
The biggest Premier League free transfer so far saw Youri Tielemans also leave Leicester to join European qualifiers Aston Villa.
Naby Keita ended his disastrous spell at Liverpool by moving back to Germany with Werder Bremen for nothing.
A Liverpool legend also waved goodbye to the Reds in James Milner as he continued his career at Brighton, who also bring in Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Dortmund.
In Serie A, Roma have already completed two free transfer deals by bringing in Houssem Aouar from Lyon and Evan N’Dicka from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Staying in Germany, Bayern Munich continue to sweep up the best available free transfers from the Bundesliga. They have brought in Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig and Raphael Guerreiro from Borussia Dortmund.
Dortmund have signed Remy Bensebaini themselves, though, from Borussia Monchengladbach.
Finally, Inigo Martinez will join Barcelona on a free transfer from Athletic Bilbao.
