Real Madrid get Romano's 'HERE WE GO' on ANOTHER deal

Real Madrid are getting their business done early this summer.

Having already signed Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano and Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in a huge €103 million deal, Los Blancos are closing in on another signing.

There are still several players at the club who are on expiring contracts, but, unlike Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio, it appears that most of them will agree to new deals before long. Veteran midfielders Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have both reportedly already assented to fresh one-year extensions, which should be announced shortly.

Fellow midfielder Dani Ceballos, however, has been the subject of significant speculation. It appeared to be a 50-50 call whether he would stay or whether he would look for greener pastures, but a final decision has now been made.

Ceballos to stay

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spaniard is set to sign a new deal at the Santiago Bernabeu in what is a slightly surprising turn of events seeing as though the former Arsenal man has not been a guaranteed starter in recent times.

What likely influenced his decision, however, is that Carlo Ancelotti has still given the 26-year-old the chance to impress. Despite his role as more of a squad player, Ceballos featured in almost 2000 minutes for Real last term, contributing with nine assists and a goal.

The deal has not officially been signed yet, but according to Fabrizio Romano, an agreement is imminent. There are just some final details that need to be ironed out.

Ceballos has at times been linked with a return to Real Betis where he earned his spurs before making the switch to the capital, but those rumours can be put to bed now.

After his transfer to Madrid, Ceballos didn't find it easy to get into the team, eventually being sent out on a two-year loan deal to Arsenal in 2019. A comeback to the Premier League is also something that had often been rumoured.
