Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is demanding a move away after once again being relegated to the bench, according to a report.

Los Blancos' situation between the sticks is interesting. Number one Thibaut Courtois went down in pre-season with an ACL injury and will miss most if not the entirety of the current campaign.

The Belgian's injury left Real shorthanded in the goalkeeping department with Andriy Lunin the only available senior shot-stopper on the squad. Unsurprisingly, then, the capital club dipped into the market and brought in Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from Chelsea after also considering ex-Man Utd keeper David de Gea.

After already playing second fiddle to Courtois, Lunin is now also a mere backup to Kepa and he is not happy about this.

Lunin wants out

That is at least according to Fichajes, which claims that Lunin has 'exploded' and is demanding a transfer. The once-highly-rated Ukrainian had been hopeful that he would get his chance to impress after Courtois' injury, but Kepa has come in and quickly established himself as the undisputed number one.

The Spanish outlet claims that Lunin's being relegated back to the bench "completely exhausted the patience of the goalkeeper, who apparently made the decision to put an end to his time at the Santiago Bernabeu in January."

Among his suitors are unnamed clubs from the Premier League and Bundesliga, states the report. Lunin cost Los Blancos €8.5 million in 2018, but he has only made 19 senior appearances since.

The above-mentioned report writes that the Ukrainian will be one of the first names to depart Real in the winter, which, if true, will cause some significant upheaval given that it would leave Kepa as the only available goalkeeper on the squad. This repeat of this summer's scenario would see Real once again scour the market for a shot-stopper.
