Jude Bellingham is already well on his way towards becoming a Real Madrid great - and he has only played in four LaLiga games for them so far.

The young Englishman arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu after a somewhat surprising turn of events. Bellingham looked destined to be heading to the Premier League with Liverpool in particular keen on making the then-Borussia Dortmund star the face of their new-look midfield.

But then the Reds surprisingly pulled out, ostensibly because of Dortmund's asking price, and Real Madrid signed him instead for €103 million. Right now, it looks like money well spent.

The still-only-20-year-old has hit like a bomb in Spain's capital. Carlo Ancelotti has given him the freedom to perform in a more attacking role at the tip of his midfield diamond and the youngster has taken to his new role like a fish to water. There's a good argument to be made that the youngster has been Los Blancos' best player during their 100 per cent start to the new LaLiga campaign.

Ronaldo record equaled

Bellingham once again showed off his ability to perform in clutch moments in Real's most recent game - a fixture that had the eyes of the world fixed on it for completely different reasons. Ancelotti's men hosted Getafe, who had made headlines on Deadline Day for signing disgraced Man Utd forward Mason Greenwood on loan.

The 21-year-old didn't feature, having not kicked a ball in a competitive game since his arrest in January 2022, and it was instead his compatriot who, thankfully, stole the show. Real went 1-0 down when their former player Borja Mayoral gave Getafe the lead, but they came back after the break thanks to strikes from Joselu and, you guessed it, Bellingham - in the 95th minute no less.

It was the Englishman's fourth successive LaLiga game with a goal, equaling a record set by none other than former Galactico Cristiano Ronaldo. Bellingham's late strike and general play since his arrival prompted Madrid-based paper AS to nickname the Spanish top flight "La Liga de Bellingham" - the Bellingham League.

Though still only 20, Jude Bellingham is already living up to his €100m price tag.
