Mbappe to Real Madrid under threat as mother and agent Fayza Lamari breaks FIFA rules

Kylian Mbappe could be left without an agent because his mother Fayza Lamari does not possess the necessary licence to represent her son, according to Spanish media.
Former Algerian handball star Fayza Lamari who is the mother and agent of Kylian Mbappe, his brother Ethan and fellow France star Rayan Cherki of Lyon, is currently not complying with FIFA's updated agent regulations, claims MARCA.
FIFA announced on September 29: "The legality, validity and proportionality of the regulation were confirmed by a decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport....FIFA will therefore enforce all the provisions of its Agent Regulations from October 1, including the obligation to use licensed agents, the capping of commissions and new measures relating to the protection of minors."

Lamari does not possess a licence, asserts the Spanish outlet. "As can be seen on the FIFA Agent Platform, in the FIFA agent directory, Lamari is not listed as one of the thousands of registered agents," the report states. "Therefore, without that license, Fayza could not represent any footballer, negotiate a contract or collect a commission, even indirectly."
Madrid move under threat?
Speculation surrounding Mbappe's future continues to abound. The 24-year-old has not yet signed a contract extension with PSG, meaning that he will be free to choose his next club in January, with Real Madrid the obvious destination.
However, the fact that Lamari is legally not allowed to represent him means that he will have to find a new agent to complete the deal, any deal, even his PSG extension if he wants to stay. The next opportunity for his mother to obtain the requisite licensing will be May 2024 when the newest round of agent exams is slated to take place.

Indeed, MARCA writes: "As for Lamari, there is no evidence that she took that exam, so she could not charge a commission for a possible transfer of her son. Mbappe, to negotiate a possible departure to another club such as Real Madrid or the renewal with PSG, will have to find another agent as confirmed to MARCA by experts on the subject."
