Real Madrid have been told that they will have to pay around €50 million to sign Alphonso Davies from Bayern Munich.

The 22-year-old Canada international full-back is a player that Los Blancos have coveted for several years, and he suddenly appears to be coming into focus, with reports from Germany suggesting that FCB could be willing to allow the youngster to depart for an attractive price.

Bild reports that the Bundesliga champions are willing to let the full-back depart for €50m – a figure that is in the region of his present Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €47m but is well below his peak ETV of €85m in January this year.

Davies has played every meaningful minute for Bayern in the Bundesliga and Champions League this season, generating three assists in the process.

He has not, however, had a hand in a goal since the second match of the league campaign against Augsburg.

Real Madrid closing in on Davies deal

The signs are positive for Real Madrid to conduct a successful negotiation for a player who is described as their “absolute dream” by the German source.

Los Blancos’ position is that they hope to land the player for €40m, which offers room for both clubs to talk given their respective valuations.

Where the Spaniards have a real advantage, though, is over Davies’ contract, which expires in 2025. This means that next summer will be the last chance for Bayern to profit from a player they signed for €14m from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2018.

Real Madrid is a big club, I'm a big fan

Crucially, Davies’ agent has admitted that the player is open to moving to the Bernabeu.

Speaking in the summer, Nick Huoseh said: “Real Madrid is a big club, I'm a big fan. Real is a big name. When you hear rumours about your protégé, it makes you proud.

“We still have two years of contract with Bayern. We will wait and see how everything develops in the coming weeks.”

Davies camp may be sitting on the fence, but Real Madrid must be salivating at the prospect of landing the Bayern star.
