Frenkie de Jong's future at Barcelona is uncertain amid interest from Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, according to El Nacional.

Barca beat those two clubs to the €75 million signing of De Jong from Ajax in 2019.

And the Dutchman has since developed into one of the world's best central midfielders at Camp Nou.

However, there have still been consistent links to other clubs, most notably Manchester United.

Indeed, the Red Devils had an €85 million offer accepted last year but the player rejected the move due to there being no Champions League football on offer.

Now, the 26-year-old is wanted by United's rivals, Man City, as well as PSG.

They are set to test Barcelona's resolve in the coming months, with the La Liga club remaining in financial difficulty.

Once again, a fee in the region €90m could be enough to force Barca to sell one of their most prized assets.

This is especially true if De Jong does not sign a new contract, as his existing deal runs out in 2026.

Ansu Fati's Barcelona future

Ansu Fati's chances of making it at Barcelona could be over after another devastating injury.

Fati was previously heralded as Barca’s best academy graduate since Lionel Messi, drawing comparisons to the Argentine as he established himself as a first-team regular at the age of 16.

The forward had scored 11 La Liga goals by the time he turned 18 and it was considered a foregone conclusion that he would become a world class player.

However, the 21-year-old suffered a disastrous knee injury in 2020 which kept him out for nine months. And he never really recovered from his injury, with his explosive pace and confidence severely hampered.

Barca had hoped that a loan spell at Brighton this season would help him to recapture his best form.

But, Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi confirmed this week that Fati would be missing ‘for a long time’, having picked up a hamstring injury against Nottingham Forest last weekend.
