Real Madrid complete €60m transfer? Romano reveals the TRUTH
Fabrizio Romano has revealed the truth behind Real Madrid’s transfer pursuit of Sporting CP centre-back Goncalo Inacio, who has been closely linked with the Bernabeu club in the January transfer window.
Spanish media reported on Thursday that Los Blancos have already closed a deal to allow them to sign the 22-year-old in the upcoming transfer period.
It has been reported that Carlo Ancelotti’s side are willing to meet the €60 million release clause of the youngster, who is already regarded as one of Sporting’s best players, with an Expected Transfer Vale (ETV) of €30m, according to FootballTransfers’ Player Valuation Model.

Real Madrid could force a deal by meeting the release terms of a deal that Inacio signed in August, which contracts him to Sporting until 2027.
But the Portuguese is unlikely to be in Lisbon so long, and with LaLiga’s leaders troubled by a long-term injury to Eder Militao, it had been reported they had agreed to swoop for the ball-playing defender immediately.

Inacio to Real Madrid: Is the transfer done?
Romano, though, took to his YouTube channel to explain what is really going on with the player.
“What I can tell you is that at the moment, from what I’m told, Real Madrid have not agreed anything with Sporting for Goncalo Inacio. There’s no agreement and there’s not even a concrete negotiation at this stage,” the football transfer news specialist explained.
Goncalo Inacio's transfer value over time
“This rumour is probably coming from the mission of Real Madrid scouts, who are always around – just like all top club scouts in Europe – to keep an eye on clubs, talents, players. This is what you read in Portugal. Many times Real Madrid scouts have been to Portugal, and Goncalo Inacio is one of the most interesting players in that position, so for sure they know him very well.
“But Real Madrid are not negotiating and have not closed any deal for Goncalo Inacio.”
With money tight and Real Madrid targeting a major signing in attack next summer, Florentino Perez will have to be judicious with any money he sanctions to be spent in the January transfer window, casting doubt on their ability to sign Inacio for €60m immediately.
