Kylian Mbappe will sign for Real Madrid in the summer, with Los Blancos set to pay almost half a billion euros to secure the services of the PSG attacker.

Mbappe is out of contract in the summer and will be available to depart PSG as a free agent, but that does not mean he will come cheap, with BILD reporting that the total cost of the France international forward to the Bernabeu side “well over €400 million” when payments to his family are included.

The German source reports: “Mbappe has made his decision. He wants to play for Real Madrid from July. He wants to win the Champions League with Los Blancos.”

Mbappe, though, has not agreed terms with the Spanish club.

He wants to receive €70 million per year from Real Madrid, who on Thursday were announced as the world’s richest club in the Deloitte Money League. Furthermore, there would be a signing-on fee of €125m, which could be paid annually as a bonus.

On top of this, Fayza Lamari, Mbappe’s mother and agent, expects to land commission of “at least €100m”. This figure would be spread out over the duration of what is proposed to be a four-year contract.

In total, this is upwards of €400m for the Mbappe family.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is not about to accept these terms, though. Instead, he is offering €35m per year gross per year for the 25-year-old France striker.

Financial Fair Play pressure in Spain is set to stop Los Blancos going significantly higher and matching what Mbappe’s clan is asking for – and potentially putting a stop to the deal.

The decision, Bild reports, rests on the shoulders of Lamari, who is described by the German source as being “extremely greedy”.

What does Mbappe’s future hold?

Bild’s information is in contrast with that from ESPN, which indicates that Mbappe has received an offer from Real Madrid but also one from PSG that would allow him to renew his contract at the Ligue 1 club.

ESPN, which draws on sources directly from Spain and France, indicates that the player “remains undecided” on what he plans to do in the summer.
