Romano drops Mbappe to Real Madrid bombshell
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that people at Real Madrid - including the players - are confident like never before of landing Kylian Mbappe this summer.
2024 will be different for the Frenchman. The transfer saga surrounding his move to Real Madrid is bound to end, and it is bound to end 'soon,' according to Fabrizio Romano. The ordeal and speculation will not, as it did in previous years, drag on until the summer.
Mbappe will make up his mind in the near future, claims the Italian transfer expert. While nothing is set in stone yet, there are signs that point to the 25-year-old finally leaving PSG, two years after he was initially slated to depart.
"Could it happen soon? Yes, the feeling of all parties involved in the Mbappe story is that Kylian will communicate [his final decision] soon," Romano said on his YouTube channel. "We still don't know the day and the date, but we feel...that a decision will come soon, so not in June, not in July."
Real Madrid brimming with confidence
The Italian further revealed: "Real Madrid are very confident on this Mbappe story this time because Real Madrid feel that in the exchanges they are having with Mbappe's side, this time the feeling is different. This time, the feeling is positive and this time Real Madrid and people close to Florentino Perez feel that Kylian Mbappe is really prepared to take this step and join Real Madrid."
"This is why there are many rumours - because Real Madrid are super confident...they are actively working on the Kylian Mbappe deal...Let me mention one important, crucial detail: in case Kylian Mbappe will complete this move to Real Madrid, the official proposal on the table from Real Madrid is a proposal for a salary that is way different to what he is having at PSG."
"In case Kylian Mbappe goes to Real Madrid as a free agent...it will be for a lower salary compared to what he's having at PSG...They feel despite the lower salary, the exchange they're having with Kylian Mbappe is very positive."
"This confidence," Romano continued, "is coming from the board, from people close to Florentino Perez but also from the players in the dressing room of Real Madrid. Important players of Real Madrid have the feeling that yes, this time the club are going to make it happen for Kylian Mbappe...The feeling they have at the club is that this time, it's really, really close."
