Real Madrid tease fans with Mbappe transfer announcement as PSG star 'makes decision'

Real Madrid teased fans with a cryptic post on social media hinting towards an imminent announcement of Kylian Mbappe’s transfer, with the Paris Saint-Germain forward set to reveal his decision in the coming days.

Mbappe has long-been linked with a move to Real when his contract at PSG expires at the end of the season, having rejected the Spanish giants in a similar fashion two years ago.

The 25-year-old has assured PSG he will not drag out any talks and will inform the club of his plans within the next two weeks and speculation has now been fuelled that Mbappe will end up opting to leave for Real.

The La Liga side posted a short video on Twitter of a laptop on the pitch of the Santiago Bernabeu with ‘New’ written on the screen, accompanied with a date of February 2nd, indicating there would be an announcement of some sort tomorrow.

While it is equally likely to simply be a sponsorship deal or something completely unrelated to transfers, the timing of the post combined with the recent revelation of Mbappe’s timeline sent Real fans into a frenzy.

And the post accompanied speculation in both France and Spain that Mbappe had chosen Real as his destination, having initially been reported as having ‘many doubts’ over leaving PSG.

Mbappe on course for Madrid after Real make their move

Spanish paper Marca has dedicated their front page to Mbappe, revealing that the French captain will announce publicly in Februrary that he will not renew his contract at PSG.

And French outlet FootMercato has taken it one step further, claiming Mbappe has reached an agreement with Real Madrid, while le10sport state that PSG have yet to have a meeting with their star man over a new deal.

It is believed that talks with Mbappe would only begin if the forward told the club he wanted to stay, otherwise he has been free to sign a pre-contract agreement with Real without needing to inform PSG.

PSG had reportedly asked Mbappe for ‘a month of silence’ in January, something which he honoured, but Real are said to have stepped up their chase in recent days and have seemingly convinced their target to move to the Bernabeu, with an announcement imminent.
