Bargain World Cup winner 'offered' to Barcelona has Messi seal of approval

Paulo Dybala has been 'offered' to Barcelona, according to Spanish media.

The Argentine attacker will once again be one of the most intriguing players on the transfer market in the summer. The World Cup winner is currently starring for AS Roma, but the question is how much longer the Italians can keep hold of him.

In order to sign Dybala from Juventus in 2022, Roma had to agree to a ridiculously low release clause, though thankfully for them it can only be triggered by foreign clubs. The fee required to snap up Dybala in the summer stands at €12 million, which already made him the subject of frequent links in January.

Chelsea were at one point said to be keeping an eye on the 30-year-old. Data experts SciSports, meanwhile, believe that he would be ideal for West Ham. At this stage, however, a move to the Premier League seems unlikely. Instead, Dybala could be heading to Catalunya soon.

Dybala to Barca?

According to Sport, the Argentine has been 'offered' to Barcelona, who have begun 'studying' the feasibility of making a move. The cash-strapped Catalans are once again forced to go bargain-hunting, which has seen them linked with Arsenal star Jorginho, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

The report asserts that Dybala wants to play in Spain, but he is not yet seen as a priority signing by Barcelona. The veteran is not exactly the profile of player the Blaugrana are looking for and there are fears that he is too similar to Joao Felix, whose loan they want to make permanent in the summer.

Nevertheless, Dybala is viewed as an interesting option as the club had previously looked at him back when Lionel Messi was still around. The club legend said of his Argentina teammate back in 2018: “At Juventus, he plays just like me, we look for the same spaces."
