Barcelona 'dream' of signing Liverpool star as Raphinha replacement
Liverpool forward Luis Diaz is reportedly Barcelona sporting director Deco's 'dream' summer signing.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Deco has admired Diaz since his days at Porto.
The report goes on to say that Barca would be willing to part ways with Raphinha in order to fund a move.
Raphinha has performed fairly well for Barcelona since making the €60 million move from Leeds two seasons ago.
The Brazilian has registered 20 goals and 23 assists in all competitions for the Catalan club.
However, Deco clearly believes that Diaz, who provided 18 goal contributions for Liverpool in the 2023-24 campaign, would be an upgrade.
As is always the case with Barcelona at the moment, the finances of the deal would be problematic, but they should have no issue with persuading Diaz to join them.
Luis Diaz wants Barcelona move
Diaz's father previously revealed that the Liverpool star’s dream transfer would be to Barcelona.
"[The] truth is that I know very little about Barcelona at the moment," Diaz Sr. said.

"It is true that Luis is a loyal Barcelona fan and it would be his dream to go there. So far I would like to thank Porto and Liverpool for the way they welcomed him and received him.
"Luis is a player who finds it easy to win over because of the way he is, because of his humility, his work, his dedication, he is a very disciplined player, thank God.
"There would be no problem if Luis came to Barcelona because it is a top team and one of the best in the world."
