'He would be perfect!' Carvajal urges Man City star to join Real Madrid

Dani Carvajal has revealed that he would love one of Manchester City's star players to join him at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"I tell Rodri every day to sign for Real Madrid," he told Tiempo de Juego Cope, via Fabrizio Romano.

"I tell him every day to leave Manchester, that there is no sun there and to come to Madrid that we need him.

"He tells me he has a contract... but he would be perfect for us."

The pair have been playing together for the Spanish national team, who face England in the European Championship final on Sunday.

Rodri, in particular, has been excellent at this summer's tournament, so it comes as no surprise that Caravajal would like to play with him at club level too.

Would Rodri leave Man City?

Rodri has been superb for Pep Guardiola's Man City side and is perhaps their most important player.

While the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne typically make the headlines, it is Rodri who is most missed when unavailable.

There has been no indication whatsoever that he would entertain a move to Madrid and, as Carvajal pointed out, he is under contract.

However, the Spaniard could be interested in returning to his home country at some point.

Plus, he has achieved everything possible with City so the club would probably not stand in his way if he were to ask out.
