How Real Madrid will line up in 2024-25

Thibaut Courtois is back to full fitness and although Andriy Lunin performed well last season, the Belgian will be reinstated as Real Madrid’s number one.

Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger will rekindle their partnership in central defence after the Brazilian’s ACL injury in 2023-24.

While Dani Carvajal is a nailed-on starter at right-back, there’s more uncertainty on the opposite flank.

Ferland Mendy is expected to start, but Los Blancos clearly aren’t satisfied with the Frenchman, as seen by their pursuit of Alphonso Davies, while Fran Garcia and David Alaba are also options.

The arrival of Mbappe promises to complicate things in midfield. Jude Bellingham will drop slightly deeper, into a No.10 role, while he will be backed up by a double pivot.

Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde are in pole position to start, but Eduardo Camavinga and Luka Modric will also push to become starters.

Brazilian duo Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior will play off either flank and although Mbappe has stated his displeasure at playing as a number nine, the France superstar is expected to be deployed through the middle.

With Arda Guler, Endrick and Brahim Diaz also waiting in the wings, Real Madrid’s attack will be feared by every defence in Europe.
