Barcelona are plotting a double swoop for Jonathan Tah and Joshua Kimmich, according to Spanish media.

The Blaugrana are still struggling to get on an even keel financially and remain attentive to so-called 'market opportunities' - players available for a cut-price or without a fee.

After signing Dani Olmo for €62 million and having to shift several players just to be able to register him, Barcelona might be forced into a more low-key summer window in 2025.

That being said, of course, they remain keen on this summer's top target Nico Williams, who won't be cheap by any means. However, other reinforcements could come in the form of free agents and Mundo Deportivo claims to already know two of Hansi Flick's targets.

Flick wants German pair

According to the Catalan outlet, the Blaugrana have earmarked Jonathan Tah and Joshua Kimmich as targets for the 2025 summer window. Both have been on Barcelona's radar for some time and the admiration for the latter actually predates Flick's arrival.

Tah was the subject of intense links with Bayern Munich this summer, but the German giants couldn't reach an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen and he stayed put. During the Bayern saga, Barcelona enquired about him, but a transfer was impossible due to his price.

However, the 28-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has now publically announced that he will not renew. "My decision is just as clear as it was before. I will not extend my contract," Tah said on Friday.

Kimmich is in a bit of a different position. He was one of the candidates to get sold by Bayern this summer, but no move materialised. Despite the new Germany captain's relationship being seemingly broken with his club, there has been a rapprochement in recent weeks.

Both parties have hinted that Kimmich could yet extend his stay in Munich, something that seemed impossible earlier this summer. As things stand, however, he will be a free agent in 2025 and Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the situation.
