There are numerous world-class players out of contract in 2025, but the Catalan side have picked out two in particular that they will target, Mundo Deportivo reports.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah and Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich are the two players who have been targeted.

Tah and Kimmich to Barca?

Barca can have a legitimate hope of signing both, despite their current financial issues.

Tah, who is also wanted by Bayern, has already confirmed that he will leave B04 at the end of his deal.

“I’m not going to sign a new contract with Bayer Leverkusen,” he told Suddeutsche Zeitung. “My decision is made.

“I’ll give everything for the club until the end of my contract and then we’ll see about my future club. But my decision is to go and try a different experience.”

Kimmich, meanwhile, has been unsettled at Bayern for several months, with no sign of an agreement over a new deal.

On top of this, Barcelona’s hopes of landing the 29-year-old are boosted by the fact that Hansi Flick is in charge at Camp Nou. The German coach was, of course, a highly successful figure at the Allianz Arena, while he has also worked with the boss in the national team too.

Barca have had some joy in the free transfer market in recent seasons, attracting the likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Memphis Depay and Andreas Christensen to the club in recent seasons, with these players having had various levels of success with the Blaugrana.

Although president Joan Laporta is hopeful that club’s financial problems ease in the next 12 months, picking up players for cheap will only aid Barca in the long run.
