Jude Bellingham will not face punishment for allegedly calling LaLiga referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero a 'piece of sh*t,' according to Spanish media.

Real Madrid prevailed over Espanyol 4-1 at the weekend, but it wasn't an easy game for Los Blancos by any means. In fact, the Barcelona-based side had actually opened the scoring, which made it an uncomfortable match for the overwhelming favourites.

The European champions ultimately got the three points but it wasn't without controversy. Late in the game, Jude Bellingham was caught on camera allegedly calling Jose Luis Munuera Montero a 'piece of sh*t' after he had shown the England star a yellow card.

However, according to MARCA, Bellingham will not be punished by LaLiga for this outburst. The outlet asserts that the league will only get involved if such an incident occurs in the public domain or if a formal complaint is made.

As the latter is highly unlikely and Bellingham's comments were made on the pitch during the fixture, it was up to the referee to mete out a punishment, which did not happen.

Bellingham's Greenwood incident

This is not the first time Bellingham seemingly insulted someone and got away with it. Last season, the 21-year-old allegedly called Mason Greenwood a 'rapist' during a match against Getafe.

The former Man Utd winger, who was on loan at Getafe after fan protests had foiled the Red Devils' plans to bring him back into the fold, was arrested in 2022 and charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

LaLiga launched an investigation into the matter but could not conclusively prove whether Bellingham had said 'rapist' or 'rubbish' and the case was dismissed. Greenwood ultimately returned to Man Utd at the end of the season before getting sold on to Olympique Marseille.
