Vinicius Jr wins the 2024 Ballon d'Or

Real Madrid and Brazil forward Vinicius Junior has officially won the 2024 Men’s Ballon d’Or.

The 24-year-old claimed his first Ballon d’Or trophy at the Theatre du Chatelet on Monday 28 October after helping Real Madrid win both La Liga and the Champions League during the 2023-24 campaign.

Vinicius won the award ahead of XXX in second-place, while XXX finished third.

Vinicius Jr scored 24 goals and provided nine assists across all competitions in the 2023-24 season and he played a crucial role as Carlo Ancelotti’s side won a 15th Champions League title.

The Brazilian notably netted a brace against Bayern Munich in the semi-final and he subsequently bagged Real Madrid’s second goal during their win over Borussia Dortmund in the final.

In addition to the Men’s Ballon d’Or, a number of other awards were also handed out during the ceremony.

XXX won the Women’s Ballon d’Or, XXX won the Kopa Trophy and XXX were named Men’s Club of the Year.
