The Barcelona wonderkid continues to awe supporters and experts alike with his performances. The 17-year-old has already racked up five goals and five assists in 10 appearances so far this term and he shows no signs of slowing down.

Yamal has become the face of Barcelona and shouts that he could be the Catalans' next Lionel Messi have long ceased to look as ridiculous as they did just 12 months ago.

The teenager is set for a bumper, long-term contract when he turns 18 next summer and he will likely be a Barcelona player for many years to come. However, had things panned out differently, he could be lining up for PSG this summer.

Romano confirms Yamal bid

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, there is truth to the rumours that PSG considered making a bid worth 'more than €200 million' earlier this year in an effort to replace Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe with Yamal.

"What I can tell you guys is that I can confirm that PSG, at some point last season, when they understood that Kylian Mbappe was going to leave the club, was going to sign for Real Madrid from PSG, they really thought about [making] a record bid for Lamine Yamal," he said in his latest YouTube video.

"So, more than €200m. They never sent this proposal, it was not an official bid, it was not an official proposal, it was not even a negotiation because Barcelona and the player didn't want to even entertain any talks with any club. But PSG internally considered to present a record bid for Lamine Yamal."

Romano insists that Yamal is 'untouchable' for Barcelona and that they have been preparing his new contract for 2025 'since last year.'
