Lamine Yamal wins the 2024 Kopa Trophy

Barcelona and Spain winger Lamine Yamal has won the 2024 Kopa Trophy.

The Blaugrana wonderkid has taken home the award honouring football's best-performing player under the age of 21 after his standout performances for club and country.

Still only 17, Yamal has been eminently important to Spain and Barcelona ever since bursting onto the scene and establishing himself as a regular at the start of 2023/24.

Last term, the teenager netted seven goals and produced nine assists in 50 appearances for Barcelona. He also became the youngest player to ever assist and score at a European Championship during Spain's triumphant Euro 2024 campaign, which he finished with a goal and four assists to his name.

So far this season, Yamal has been even more devastating, already boasting six goals and seven assists in 14 appearances.

Yamal wins the 2024 Kopa Trophy

Yamal finished the 2024 Kopa Trophy ranking ahead of Arda Guler, Kobbie Mainoo, Savinho and Pau Cubarsi, becoming the youngest player to win the award in its six-year existence.

The 17-year-old is the third Spain and Barcelona star to win the Kopa Trophy after Pedri in 2021 and Gavi in 2022.

El Clasico rival Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid won the Kopa Trophy in 2022, while new Los Blancos star Kylian Mbappe was the first player to win it back in 2018.
