Real Madrid hatch 'secret' Florian Wirtz transfer plan
Real Madrid are planning to act in 'secrecy' to beat the competition to the signing of Florian Wirtz, according to Spanish media.
The Bayer Leverkusen superstar is set to be one of the protagonists of the 2025 summer transfer window. Wirtz is widely expected to leave the German champions next year and some of Europe's biggest sides are courting him.
In the Premier League, Man City have been tipped as a potential destination as they will likely need a replacement for Kevin de Bruyne before long. Bayern Munich are plotting a huge transfer offensive for Wirtz, having made him their top target.

Sky Germany claims that Wirtz, if he were to leave Leverkusen, would prefer moving to Bayern before eventually heading abroad, while Kicker reports that his current employers are trying to tie him down to a new deal at least until 2028.
In Spain, Real Madrid are the side most prominently associated with the 21-year-old and it is asserted that they have hatched a plan to land him.
Real Madrid's secret Wirtz plan
According to AS, Los Blancos are "approaching the operation with caution and secrecy." Evidently still scarred from when they were publically snubbed by Kylian Mbappe in 2022, Real Madrid are "trying not to make any false steps."
The Spanish outlet asserts that "the signing of Wirtz is being cooked slowly" with Real Madrid wary of creating too much attention in their courtship of the German.

The Spanish giants, like Wirtz himself, are in no hurry to kickstart any kind of premature negotiations, but they see Wirtz as a priority for 2025 as they have been keeping tabs on him for at least half a decade.
Wirtz, it is claimed, has been earmarked as an ideal replacement for club legend Luka Modric, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
