OFFICIAL: Barcelona get provisional green light to use Dani Olmo
The National Sports Council, the CSD, has granted Barcelona a 'precautionary measure' in the Dani Olmo case, meaning they can now use the player until the matter is formally resolved.
Barcelona have on Wednesday taken a massive step towards re-registering Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. Last week, LaLiga and the RFEF, Spain's federation, officially rejected the club's request to register the pair after the club had missed the initial December 31 deadline.

This prompted Barcelona to explore the last available legal avenue, which meant appealing to the CSD and Spain's Secretary of State for Sport, Jose Manuel Rodriguez Uribes, to ensure the eligibility of their players.
The licenses of Olmo and Victor expired on January 1 and players in Spain are only allowed to have a single license per team over the course of a season, so they would have been unable to feature for Barcelona or the national team for the rest of the season, while the club also couldn't have simply loaned them out.
Barcelona get away with one
However, on Wednesday, the CSD announced that it had granted Barcelona their 'precautionary measure,' allowing the club to utilise Olmo and Victor until the matter is formally resolved.
The decision, the CSD claims, is in the interest of the club, the player and LaLiga despite the fact that several rival clubs have reportedly expressed indignation over the matter and surely won't be happy about this ruling.
It has to be said, though, that this measure by the CSD is only "provisional until the appeal filed by the club and the aforementioned players is definitively resolved."

The CSD has overruled LaLiga and the RFEF and "maintains the validity of [Olmo's and Victor's] licenses until the present appeal is definitively resolved."
Unfortunately for Barcelona, the ruling came too late for Olmo and Victor to be included in their squad for the Supercopa clash with Athletic Club, though both travelled with the team to Saudi Arabia.
