Real Madrid provide SHOCK help to Barcelona in Olmo battle with La Liga

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez helped Barcelona get Dani Olmo registered.
The registration case of Dani Olmo is a long and arduous one but it appears that Barcelona got some help from their arch rivals Real Madrid in finally getting it done.
Having missed La Liga's deadline of December 31st, 2024, to register Dani Olmo after a previous loophole had closed (because the organisation requested extra documentation that was not in their regulations) the Spanish midfielder was de-registered.
It didn't matter that just three days later Barcelona produced the necessary documents and returned to a financial state that would easily allow them to register Olmo.

Because he had been de-registered, he couldn't then be re-registered with the same team in the same season as per the rules.
Barcelona went to the courts, but were rebuffed. Turning to the Spanish Ministry of Sport to grant an injunction that would, temporarily, allow Olmo (and Pau Victor) to be registered while they wait for the Ministry to judge the case.
Catalunya Radio is now reporting that Florentino Perez personalled phoned the President of he High Court for Sport, Jose Maniuel Rodriguez Uribes and personally asked that he accept Barcelona's request and grant the injunction.
Despite being intense rivals in the sporting sense, Florentino Perez and Joan Laporta maintain a friendly relationship and, of course, have a shared interest in the formation and success of the European Super League.
Now the Blaugrana wait until April, hoping for a favourable ruling from the High Court for Sport, that will end this contract saga for good.

Hotshot sale enables Martinez registration
Another contract saga was that of Inigo Martinez. The Spaniard signed on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 but his debut campaign was marred by injury and he, too, was only registered using temporary loopholes both last season and this.
Barcelona returning to 1:1 and a neutral financial fair play state allowed for Martinez's contract to be registered for this season, but not his renewal.
However, Barcelona were able to offer the Spaniard, who has been having an excellent season, an immediate renewal because of the sale of Vitor Roque.

The Brazilian signed in January 2024 for €30 million but wasn't given a fair shake. After a loan to Real Betis, the Brazilian was sold to Palmeiras for €25 million in February 2025.
This cancelled out the "debt" he represented on Barcelona's books (approximately €23m of his transfer fee remained to be amortised) and removing this debt gave Barcelona the necessary margin to renew Martinez right now.
