Five players who could join Barcelona this summer

Barcelona have been impacted by financial woes in recent years and this has severely impacted their ability to sign big-money stars.
As a result, they are set to pursue free agents yet again in 2025, while they must pick their targets extremely carefully as they can’t afford another Philippe Coutinho-esque situation.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through five players who could join Barcelona this summer.

Nico Williams (Athletic Club)
Nico Williams has been Barcelona’s priority transfer target for the past 12 months and they are still eager to finalise an agreement with the Athletic Club star, despite the impressive form of Raphinha.
Williams is regarded as one of Europe’s most talented wingers and he is viewed as a player capable of vastly improving Hansi Flick’s options in attack.
However, Arsenal are determined to bring Williams to north London this summer, while Chelsea have also been tipped to pursue a move. As a result, Barcelona will need to convince him to snub interest from England and join the Camp Nou giants instead.

Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen)
Jonathan Tah was close to joining Bayern Munich last summer, but the deal collapsed at the last minute and he was forced to remain at Bayer Leverkusen.
However, the Germany international is almost guaranteed to leave Xabi Alonso’s side following the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign as his current Leverkusen contract is due to expire in July.
Barcelona have been monitoring Tah’s situation for months and a Bosman move to Camp Nou could take place as the Blaugrana eye a bargain deal.
Neymar (Santos)
Neymar has been linked with a sensational return to Barcelona ever since his world record €222m move to Paris Saint-Germain was confirmed back in 2017.
After a short spell in Saudi Arabia, Neymar is back with boyhood club Santos, although his current deal with the Brazilian side is set to end this summer.
According to various reports, Neymar is targeting a move back to Barcelona and a free transfer deal is certainly on the cards, despite the fact he is now 33 years old.
Luis Diaz (Liverpool)
If Barcelona are unable to sign Williams or Neymar, they are expected to pursue a move for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.
The Colombia international has been tipped to leave Anfield this summer, as Arne Slot looks to revamp his attack, and a move to La Liga is a possibility.
Barcelona are tracking his situation and reports indicate that Diaz could arrive at Camp Nou this summer.

Samu Aghehowa (Porto)
Barcelona are looking to sign a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski and a number of players have been linked with the club in recent months, including Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak and Jonathan David.
However, FC Porto striker Samu Aghehowa is also on their radar and Barca could look to finalise an agreement to bring him back to Spain following his Atletico Madrid exit in 2024.
Aghehowa has enjoyed a sublime first season in Portugal and Barcelona will need to fight off fairly significant competition for his signature amid interest from a host of Premier League clubs.
