The 26-year-old has departed Anfield having made XXX appearances for his boyhood club, following his senior debut way back in 2016.
Alexander-Arnold was a key member of the team that won the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the Premier League between 2019 and 2020, under Jurgen Klopp, while he was an integral figure during Arne Slot’s first season at Anfield.
However, he has opted to leave the Reds on a Bosman deal despite previously admitting that becoming club captain at Liverpool was a career “ambition.”
Alexander-Arnold has become the sixth Englishman to join Real Madrid in their illustrious history and he will link up with international team-mate, and close friend, Jude Bellingham in the Spanish capital.
The 26-year-old is expected to challenge Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez for a starting berth at the Santiago Bernabeu, although he is likely to immediately become Carlo Ancelotti’s preferred right-back.
Alexander-Arnold is the latest high-profile star to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, following the recent arrivals of Kylian Mbappe, Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba.
