Cristiano Ronaldo can break a host of records at Euro 2024.
Ronaldo will become the oldest outfield player in the history of the Euros when he sets foot onto the pitch for Portugal.
Germany legend Lothar Matthaus is the oldest outfield player at a Euros finals at 39 years and 91 days during the group game against Portugal at Euro 2000.
Ronaldo will be 39 years and 127 days when Portugal play their first game at Euro 2024 against the Czech Republic in Group F.

He can also naturally break the record as oldest player to appear in - and win - a European Championship final if Portugal go all the way.
Jens Lehmann is currently the oldest player to appear in a final at the age of 38 years and 232 days in the Euro 2008 final for Germany against Spain. Ronaldo’s former Portugal teammate Ricardo Carvalho is the oldest player on a winning team at 38 years and 53 days.
Ronaldo records at Euros
Ronaldo will also break the record for most European Championship tournaments played.

The attacker will play in his sixth tournament at Euro 2024, having already featured at Euro 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020.
He currently shares the record for most tournaments - five - with Iker Casillas, although the former Spain goalkeeper did not play in all of them.
If Portugal reach the final, Ronaldo can break the record for most appearances in a Euros final. He already shares the record of two finals with 23 other players. He can be the only player to have played in three finals at Euro 2024.
Ronaldo already holds the record for most Euros finals appearances (25), most minutes played (2.153), most appearances as a captain (16) and most matches won (12). He can extend these records at Euro 2024.
Ronaldo can equal Iker Casillas’ record as most tournaments won as captain (two) if Portugal are victorious in 2024.

If he scores at Euro 2024, Ronaldo will become the oldest player to score in the history of the European Championship.
Ivica Vastic is the oldest player currently to score in the history of the European Championship. Vastic was 38 years and 257 days when he scored for Austria against Poland at Euro 2008.
Ronaldo already holds the record for most goals scored at the Euros (14 in total), most goals scored in qualifying (41) and most goals scored in all Euro matches, including finals and qualifying (55).
Ronaldo has already scored in more matches (10) and more tournaments (five) than any other player.
He also has scored more penalties (three) than anyone - excluding shootouts.
Ronaldo also has had more attempts on goal (137) than anyone else in Euros history, more than double his nearest rival in Thierry Henry (52).
Ronaldo can break the record for most assists in European Championship history. He currently shares the record with Czech Republic legend Karel Poborsky on six assists. With one assist, Ronaldo will hold the record outright, although Belgium’s Kevin de Bruyne is just behind on five assists.
Ronaldo can break the record for most chances created at the Euros. He has created 41 chances in total, one fewer than all-time record holder Luis Figo (42).
