Could Mason Mount leave Chelsea next season?
Chelsea are flying high at the top of the Premier League table after nine wins from their opening 12 games of the new league campaign.
At the heart of Thomas Tuchel’s all-conquering team of European champions is none other than England midfielder Mason Mount, who has quickly developed into one of Europe’s finest No.10s.
However, while Mount’s role at Chelsea seems certain to fans, mumbles from across the continent are beginning to suggest that his future may lie elsewhere.
Who wants to sign Mount?
According to Spanish publication Fichajes, the England star has become a serious transfer target for none other than Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants are likely to need a long-term successor to Luka Modric’s throne in the years to come and Mount’s expertise in the No.10 position could certainly help plug that hole in Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
The website also suggests that Madrid are joined by Premier League rivals Manchester City and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, who are both reportedly keeping close tabs on the Chelsea midfielder.

Could he leave Chelsea?
While reports in Spain may suggest otherwise, it still seems highly unlikely that Mount would leave Chelsea anytime soon.
The 22-year-old talent has a contract at Chelsea that is set to run until 2024 and he’ll almost certainly be looking to extend that deal in the coming year ahead.
Fichajes suggest that Mount "does not feel appreciated" but that seems a little far fetched considering Tuchel’s insistence on playing the England international whenever possible.
If Mount is yet to receive a contract offer that slots his pay in line with some of the club’s biggest and most important players, then it is surely on its way.
How much is Mount currently worth?
Due to the fact that he has a long-term contract at a club that seem to specialise in only selling the players they don’t want, Mount naturally has a very high value in the current market.
According to FootballTransfers’ algorithm, Mount is current valued at €71 million and would likely demand a fee of €89 million if Chelsea were forced into selling the midfielder anytime soon.
