Mbappe’s birthday party confirms new PSG contract?
A photograph of Kylian Mbappe holding up a PSG shirt with the year 2050 printed on the back has sparked reports that the Frenchman is indeed set to stay at the club.
Mbappe was involved in the biggest transfer saga of the summer as he attempted to push through a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.
In the end the transfer didn’t go through but Mbappe is widely expected to still move to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season on a Bosman.
Mbappe’s contract at PSG expires in June and he has repeatedly rejected offers of an extension.
However, at the weekend, PSG sporting director Leonardo remarked that there was a “good chance” that Mbappe would still stay at the club.
“I think they’re all going about this in a very calm way,” Leonardo said of Mbappe’s transfer situation.
“But it’s a complicated situation because while we’d like him to stay for a lifetime we have to respect him. I think we still have a good chance.”
What did Mbappe do at his birthday party?
And Leonardo’s confidence has been supported by a picture that has emerged from Mbappe’s 23rd birthday party.

Mbappe celebrated his birthday with his PSG teammates, with the likes of Sergio Ramos, Marco Verratti, Achraf Hakimi and Ander Herrera all attending.
And during the party, Mbappe and his PSG teammates held up a PSG shirt that had the player’s surname and the year 2050 printed on the back.
The image was posted onto Instagram by PSG left back Juan Bernat and has since gone viral.
Does the image confirm that Mbappe is indeed set to sign a new long-term contract at PSG and reject what had appeared a certain Bosman transfer to Real Madrid?
