‘It’s important to have a player like him’ – PSG legend offers praise for Kean

Paris Saint-Germain legend Pauleta has said that it is vital for the club to have a player like Moise Kean.

When Kean arrived from Everton in the summer, he was seen as something of a panic signing. However, the Italy international forward has proven to be a valuable addition to the Parc des Princes side.

He has scored 11 goals in 21 games and has proven to be a valuable presence in the penalty box.

PSG do not have a purchase agreement with Everton in Kean’s loan, but Pauleta believes they should consider purchasing him on a long-term basis.

“He is a very talented player, a very physical young player. He’s always looking towards the goal,” Pauleta told PSG TV.

“It’s important for PSG to have a player like him. Icardi, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe are players who can make a difference at any time, but it’s important to have a player like Moise Kean.

“He has a lot of ambition and he can bring a lot of things to the team.”

Kean had a rough first season at Everton after making a high-profile move from Juventus in the 2019 summer transfer window. In 33 games for the Toffees, he scored only two goals and laid on another two assists.

With PSG, he has enjoyed a more pitch time and has already played more for the Ligue 1 outfit than he did in England. However, since Icardi returned to fitness, he has been pushed down to second choice.

Kean will hope to win his spot back for PSG’s Sunday trip to Marseille as they aim to keep in touch with Lille and Lyon, who lead the way in France.
