Kamaldeen Sulemana rejected a move to Manchester United this summer and has wasted no time at all in showing them what they missed out on.

The 19-year-old winger scored a stunning goal just 14 minutes into his official Rennes debut against Lens.

Kamaldeen curled home a stunning effort off the post after embarking on a solo run from just inside the opposition half.

This moment of brilliance will not have passed unnoticed by Man Utd who, according to numerous reports, tried to sign the Ghanian this summer.

The youngster previously plied his trade in Denmark with Nordsaelland, having joined them from Ghanaian football academy Right to Dream in 2020.

His performances in Scandinavia were so impressive that he was even likened to Brazil icon Neymar.

Man Utd are said to have made a move for Kamaldeen but the youngster rejected their interest and instead signed for Rennes for €15 million.

The wideman has instantly justified the hype surrounding him, although his efforts were not enough to gain Rennes all three points on Sunday.

A goal from Seko Fofana just five minutes later earned Lens a share of the spoils as the match finished 1-1 on the opening matchday of Ligue 1.

Kamaldeen's career so far

Kamaldeen scored 10 goals in 30 games for Nordsjaelland last season and this form earned him a call-up to the Ghana national team.

He has since won two caps for his nation, debuting in October 2020 against Mali and also playing in the friendly against Qatar.

Kamaldeen has been tipped for a big career and is regarded as one of the most exciting young African talents in world football.

He will next be in action on Sunday 15 August against Brest at Stade Francis-Le Blé.
