Donnarumma ‘disturbed’ by lack of PSG minutes
With Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas, Paris Saint-Germain have two of the best goalkeepers in world football at their disposal and this is generally an advantage for Mauricio Pochettino. But, the Argentine must make sure both players remain happy and that is easier said than done.
So far, Donnarumma has played just 630 minutes to Navas’ 990 minutes, with the goalkeepers job-sharing to start the 2021/22 season. Both have had opportunities domestically and on the continent, with each shot-stopper making two Champions League appearances so far. But, neither ‘keeper is playing week in week out and this is something Donnarumma is struggling with as, unlike the Costa Rican, the Italian has never experienced this before.
Donnarumma’s comments about job-sharing with Navas
While away with the Italian national team, with whom he won Euro 2020 and the tournament’s best player award in the summer, Donnarumma spoke about his situation at club level.
“[The job-sharing] doesn’t affect my performances, but it does disturb me,” he told TNT Sports. “It’s not easy because I am used to playing all the time. So, sometimes it can hurt to be on the bench. Yet, I’m sure that this situation will eventually be resolved.”

Raiola wants Donnarumma to play every game
Despite those comments, the situation remains peaceful for now. Donnarumma, though, has one of the fieriest agents in the sport and Mino Raiola isn’t believed to be happy with the situation.
Donnarumma signed a contract at PSG until 2026, so it would be close to impossible to force a move away from a club that is notoriously difficult to leave, but Raiola could start making public statements about the PSG goalkeeping situation too and that would add fuel to the fire.
This is certainly a situation worth watching, as the job-sharing could be unsustainable, especially when the Champions League knockouts come around.
