Paris Saint-Germain face another pivotal summer in the transfer market as they attempt to build a team finally good enough to win the Champions League.

Despite adding world-class talent to their ranks in the form of Achraf Hakimi, Sergio Ramos, Gini Wijnaldum and Lionel Messi, the Parisians have yet to get the right blend in their side and face a reconstruction job in the weeks ahead.

Much of this will hinge on the players they offload or leave, but unsurprisingly they are linked to a raft of top talent.

With Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma on their books, PSG have no need to think about reinforcing in goal.

Antonio Rudiger

PSG have been linked with Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, although they do not appear to be among the favourites to sign the Germany international, who enjoyed a stellar 2021.

Nuno Mendes

Nuno Mendes appears likely to make his loan moved from Sporting CP permanent. He has been an impressive performer and has a great deal of potential.

Ronald Araujo

PSG have been linked with young Barcelona defender Araujo in recent weeks. The odds are, however, that the centre-back signs a new contract and remains at Camp Nou. If terms are not reached, PSG will try to take advantage of the fact that there is only a year left on his deal.

PSG are likely to see a major turnover in players in the midfield this summer. They will be targeting losing three or four players from this sector of their team.

Paul Pogba

They are reportedly pushing hard to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United. The France international would provide them with a different option to those they already possess, while he boasts the profile that the club loves to promote.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Just as Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is linked with Manchester United in each transfer window by the UK media, he is said to interest PSG by the French media. There is a feeling that this summer could finally be the one he moves… but we’ve heard that before.

Lucas Paqueta

A move for Paqueta would make sense for PSG. He is already adapted to Ligue 1, where he turns out with Lyon, he would offer a different type of threat from midfield, where he would likely operate as a No.10 and he would not cost an extortionate figure. Nevertheless, Newcastle and Arsenal are also studying the Brazilian.

Christopher Nkunku

Only three years after allowing Christopher Nkunku to leave for RB Leipzig for €13m, PSG could have to pay millions to get him back in their squad. The attacking midfielder, who has been operating as a forward this season, has posted formidable numbers for the Bundesliga side but is a PSG fan and is open to a deal.

Should Kylian Mbappe leave for Real Madrid – which is a move that appears to hang in the balance at present – it will prompt PSG to sign another major offensive talent.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Could we really see Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi finally team up? There was a suggestion last summer that it might happen, and should Mbappe leave for Real Madrid, this will definitely be a rumour that will circulate. Indeed, it has already started.

Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski was another player who was tentatively linked with a move to PSG a year ago and they continue to be associated with the Poland international even now. Barcelona appear to lead the way in this transfer, though.

Erling Haaland

Given their riches, of course PSG have been mentioned in dispatches with regards Haaland. They have the financial wealth to make a deal happen, but Manchester City are confident that they will get the move over the line and it’s not been a deal that PSG have been pushing.

Darwin Nunez

Following an explosive season with Benfica, Nunez is being linked to big clubs left, right and centre. PSG are no different in this regard, with the Uruguayan tipped as a possible replacement for Mbappe.
