Mbappe admits he may reject Barca and Madrid after considering new factors
Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he may reject a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid this summer because of “new elements” that have potentially changed his mind.
The French striker was once again on form for the Ligue 1 giants this weekend, when he picked up two goals and three assists in his team’s 5-1 demolition of Lorient in the French top flight.
Such a performance now means that Mbappe is sitting on an incredible record of 28 goals and 20 assists in just 38 games for PSG this season.
As such, the striker is undoubtedly the most sought-after player ahead of the summer transfer window, where Mbappe will be able to join a new club for free due to his expiring contract.
To date, Madrid have been the main contenders for Mbappe’s signature, but in recent weeks their La Liga rivals Barca have also been linked with a move for the player.
However, when asked about his future after Sunday’s game, the striker suggested that he could yet decide to stay at PSG but hasn’t yet made up his mind.
’If I had made up my mind I would have said so’
In a manner that will hardly appease any group of fans, Mbappe was remarkably coy on the top of his future when he was asked about leaving PSG in a matter of months.
"If I had made my decision, I would have said so," Mbappe told Amazon Prime. "I don't have to answer to anyone. If I had made the decision, I would have taken responsibility. The good and the bad things, I have always assumed them by the way.
"I don't have to hide, I didn't kill anyone. I just want to make the best decision I can.
"I'm still thinking about it. Because there are new elements, new parameters. I want to make the right choice. I know that for people, it takes a little while."
Later, he added to reporters: "Is staying at PSG possible? Yes of course."
