PSG are planning a mass clear out of players this summer as the Ligue 1 champions step into a transitional period.

It’s already been a huge transfer window for the Parisians. Kylian Mbappe surprisingly signed a new contract with the club when it appeared for much of the previous year he would be heading to Real Madrid, while head coach Mauricio Pochettino has been replaced by former Lille and Nice boss Christophe Galtier.

With a huge squad, an exodus of players was inevitable, and it appears that Galtier and new sporting director Luis Campos are only too happy to facilitate this. Indeed, a whole squad’s worth of players could be on their way from Parc des Princes, with 11 players earmarked to leave following the departures of Angel Di Maria and Xavi Simons at the end of their contracts, and goalkeepers Alphonse Areola and Marcin Bulka, who have made loans permanent.

PSG's transfer list

There are some big names among those that PSG want to offload.

Mauro Icardi is arguably the most high-profile of the players that PSG want rid of. The Argentine has become peripheral over the past couple of seasons, with the arrival of Lionel Messi meaning that he is given little game time.

Fellow attackers Julian Draxler and Pablo Sarabia are also seen as surplus to requirements.

In midfield, meanwhile, Idrissa Gueye is a surprising name on the list of players who are transfer listed. He is joined by Ander Herrera.

There is also set to be a clear out of full-backs. Thilo Kehrer, Layvin Kurzawa and Juan Bernat can all depart the club along with Colin Dagba, who has already been sent on loan to Strasbourg.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Sergio Rico is surplus to requirements, with Alexandre Letellier having already signed a new deal to become PSG’s third-choice in goal this season.
